Physical
Description: Slightly undersized right-hander with limited
physical projection remaining.
Mechanics: Throws
from a three-quarters arm slot with effort in his delivery. Jerky
mechanics, including slight drop-and-drive and short arm action. Average
arm speed with front side deception.
Fastball:
87-89 mph. Tops out at 91 mph. Pitch shows sink and run at times and cut
in lower velocity range. Average potential.
Curveball:
74-78 mph. Will also take something off and throw in low 70s. 11-to-5
movement and length. Slow and loopy side and tends to roll to the plate.
Fringe-average potential.
Changeup: 81-82 mph.
Pitch shows drop. Fringe-average potential.
Slider:
82-83 mph. Short, vertical break.
Summation:
Profiles best in a bullpen role, but lack of velocity or above-average
secondary pitch limits upside. Already old for the level repeating Lowell
in 2016. Upside of an organizational bullpen arm. |
