Scouting Report: Has good overall potential, projected by some as a second-round talent in 2006.Large catcher's frame with some present power and a high power ceiling.  Hits to the opposite field and center well.  An aggressive hitter but still able to demonstrate good plate patience when necessary. Struggles badly with off-speed stuff, still swinging at lots of pitches in the dirt.  Catching skills are subpar, has accordingly spent a lot of time at first base. Glove and footwork need improvement at both positions.  Strong arm, needs to improve throwing accuracy.  Bulked up during the 2007-08 off-season, adding some good muscle to his frame.  Missed a portion of the 2008 season with a knee injury, and portions of the 2009 season with a hamate bone injury.
