  Scouting Report & Links

Physical Description: Medium-sized right-hander. Still has room to grow physically even in his late 20s.

Mechanics: Low three-quarters arm slot. Slinging motion to his delivery, yet slow and deliberate. Does not utilizes his lower half much to generate torque. Above-average control, generates a lot of ground balls.

Fastball: Relies heavily on a 90-91 mph two-seam sinker, which he locates well. Excellent downward action with some tail.

Curveball: Best secondary offering is a 75-78 mph power curveball with an excellent spin rate. Loopy movement down towards the glove side. Does not miss a lot of bats.
Changeup: Mixes in an occasional 82-83 mph changeup. Attempts to paint the corners or fiddle just outside the zone, leaving minimal margin for error.

Career
Notes: Passed on signing with the Phillies in 2008 to pitch for St. Petersburg College in his hometown. Invited to Braves' MLB spring training in 2016. Bounced from Atlanta to Seattle to Tampa Bay to Boston over the next few seasons. Limited major league success. Was outrighted off the 40-man roster during the 2020-21 offseason but agreed to a split contract to stay with the organization. Began 2021 at the Alternate Training Site. Claimed off waivers in June 2021 after being called up to Boston and pitching in a single contest.

Summation: Profiles as an up-and--down emergency depth arm. Could be effective in short stints given his control and propensity to induce groundballs.
