Scouting Report: Lefty with an average frame and limited remaining projection. Starts with a wide base from the wind up. Rough delivery with a lot of effort and moving parts. Has a short stride and arm-heavy delivery. Long arm action and inconsistent release point. Had Tommy John surgery in May 2014. In first action back, primarily worked off of cutter in the mid-80s. Four-seam fastball got up to 91 mph. Also showed two-seam fastball at 87 mph with arm-side run. Does a good job manipulating the baseball to give different looks with his fastball. Reportedly worked in the low-90s prior to surgery. Best pitch is 79-81 mph changeup. Has strong feel for the pitch and throws it with deceptive arm speed. Shows late drop. Breaking ball varies between curveball and slider. Velocity ranges anywhere from 71-78 mph. Pitch is more vertical in lower velocity band and sweeps horizontally with shorter break at higher velocity. More of a spinner than a pitch with tight rotation and bite.
