Physical Description: Average
frame with no remaining projection.
Mechanics:
Max-effort delivery, throwing exclusively from the stretch from
the first base side of the rubber. Throws from a three-quarters
arm slot with hard recoil and head whack. Short arm action that
puts a lot of stress on his arm and could lead to injury issues
long-term.
Fastball: 93-95 mph. Straight
and lacks plane, but has been effective against less advanced
bats. Control has improved as he has moved up the ladder and now
projects as fringe-average. Potential below-average command.
Pitch plays below velocity grade due to lack of movement and
inconsistent command. Potential solid-average offering.
Slider: 84-88 mph. Short, horizontal break.
Will show sharp, cutter-ish movement at its best. Shows good
feel for the pitch and willingness to use it against left-handed
hitters. Potential above-average offering.
Curveball: 79-83 mph. Vertical, 12-to-6 shape, has more
depth than slider. Inconsistent feel that sometimes gets better
as outings go on. Potential fringe-average offering.

Changeup: Mid-80s, show-me changeup. Did not
use in outings scouted in 2022.
Career Notes:
Senior sign in 2018. Jumped straight to High-A Salem in 2019.
Participated in the 2018 and 2020 Fall Instructional League.
Bounced between the rotation and bullpen in the second half of
2019 and worked as a starter for most of 2021 before moving back
to the bullpen in September. Participated in 2022 Winter
Warm-Up. Selected by Baltimore in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft,
returned to Boston in March 2023.
Summation: Potential
up-and-down emergency relief arm with the ceiling of a middle
reliever if he can improve command and consistency with all his
pitches. Significant injury risk in delivery and faces questions
about his ability to get left-handed hitters out at the major
league level without a useable changeup, though progression of
his slider has given him a pitch he is confident throwing
against left-handed hitters.
