Scouting Report: Undersized lefty showed improvement
during his first year in the United States. Heavier than listed with a
sturdy lower half. Limited physical projection remaining. Has a hitch in
his delivery and a head whip. Throws from a three-quarters arm slot from
the first base side of the rubber. Effort in delivery and struggles to
repeat. Slight drop and drive. Some arm speed. Fastball sits in the
high-80s, topping out at 92 mph. Fastball shows natural cut. Lacks feel
for secondaries. Changeup works in the 80-82 mph range but is
inconsistent. Varies arm speed and on the firm and straight side. Has
flashed drop and the ability to turn it over. Curveball sits 71-74 mph,
but struggles to find consistent release point, releasing it early or late
and not always snapping it off. Shows long 2-to-8 break, but is on the
loose side. Has also shown a slider at 83 mph. |
