Physical Description: Smaller,
undersized frame. Limited athleticism. Minimal remaining
projection. Does not have the typical look of a baseball player.
Hit: Starts slightly open with his hands
high. Very brief leg lift and short stride. Simple swing
mechanics. Short swing that is fluid and direct to the ball.
Keeps the barrel in the zone a long time. Makes a lot of contact
and has an advanced approach with solid pitch recognition. Works
counts, does not miss a lot of pitches in the zone, and does not
swing at bad pitches. Has had some struggles against advanced
breaking balls and against velocity up in the zone. Potential
average hit tool.
Power:
Below-average power potential. Not a major part of his game.
Swing is designed for line drives in the gap. Produces fringy
exit velocities that do not lend to considerable over-the-fence
power.
Run: Below-average speed. Solid
instincts, but not the most fluid runner. Has the type of body
that could cause him to get slower as he matures.
Field: Soft hands, fluid actions. Average
range, comfortable charging the ball. Profiles best at second
base at higher levels, but has seen some time at third base and
shortstop.

Arm: Fringe-average arm strength. Profiles best
at second base long-term, but could pass at third base in a
pinch.
Career Notes: Became an avid
surfer in college at San Diego. Missed most of his sophomore
season with an injury to his right shoulder. Played in the
Northwoods League in the summer of 2021. All-WCC First Team in
2022. Played in the Cape Cod League in 2022 for Yarmouth-Dennis.
Was young for a college junior in his draft year in 2023. Was
promoted aggressively through the farm system in 2022 and 2023,
reaching Double-A in May of his first full season. Participated
in the Red Sox Rookie Development Program in January 2024.
Summation: Potential fringe-bench player who
brings solid contact skills and some defensive versatility.
Ceiling of a contact-oriented utility player, Will always have
to hit, but has shown strong contact skills and an advanced
approach so far. Needs to show he can impact the baseball or
advanced arms will challenge him since they know he is unlikely
to make them pay. Young for the college draft class and
combination of age, contact skills and approach grade out really
well on models.
