Physical Description: Small, compact frame.
Fringe-average athlete. Well-developed physique for his age.
Very strong lower half and muscular upper body. Minimal
remaining projection.
Hit: Starts
slightly open with his hands high. Quick wrists, violent swing.
Does not get cheated and really whips the bat through the zone
with impressive bat speed, especially for his age. Has one of
the quickest bats in the system, but has a raw, aggressive
approach. Looks to attack early in counts. Will expand the zone,
especially against offspeed pitches, and has a hard time
recognizing secondaries. Improving pitch recognition and
approach will be crucial for his development. Highly volatile
hit tool that potentially grades as below-average.
Power: Above-average raw power with the
potential for more as he physically matures. Already produces
solid exit velocities and hard-hit rates for his age. Power is
primarily to the pull side right now. Average game power.
Run: Below-average speed. Already not the
most fleet of foot and likely to slow down more as he matures.
Field: Fringy instincts and range. Does not
move laterally with fluidity and footwork gets choppy when he
has to charge or move back on a ball. Will make the routine
plays. Moved primarily to second base in 2025, but organization
appears to be willing to once again give him some time at
shortstop early in 2026. Not a lock to be able to stay in the
infield. Potential below-average defensive profile. |

Arm: Average arm strength. Not a standout arm
and needs to improve consistency with his throws. Passable at
short, solid for second base.
Career Notes: Received the largest bonus in the
Red Sox January 2023 IFA class. Per reports, was considered by
some scouts to be one of the best pure hitters in that year's
IFA class. Named to the 2024 Spring Breakout roster but did not
play. Was promoted to Salem in late June 2024, never debuted,
ultimately being diagnosed with a broken hamate bone that
required surgery, ending his season. Participated in the 2025
Spring Breakout and Futures at Fenway South games, starting in
the latter. Also participated in 2026 Futures at Fenway South
game and would have played in the 2026 Spring Breakout game if
not for a lineup card issue.
Summation:
Potential up-and-down, bat-first player. High-variance prospect
with considerable risk. Ceiling of a bat-first utility player.
Will show intriguing offensive tools and upside at the plate,
but needs to improve pitch recognition and approach to reach his
offensive potential. Defensive profile lags behind. Very
unlikely to stick at shortstop long-term, putting more pressure
on his bat as he moves down the defensive spectrum. Not a lock
to stick in the infield.
