Physical
Description: Athletic, average frame. On the thin side at
present, but doesn’t have a frame that looks like it can support
significant weight gain.
Mechanics: Throws from a
three quarters arm slot from. Starts on the first base side. Effort in
delivery. Comes across body and jerkiness in delivery gives some
deception. Makes his body small before coming forward. Average arm speed.
Long arm action. Inconsistent release point.
Fastball:
90-91 mph. Usually around the zone. Lacks life, hittable when up.
Fringe-average potential.
Curveball: 76-77 mph.
11-to-5 shape. Lacks tilt. On the short side. Below-average
potential.
Changeup: 82-84 mph. Thrown with
deceptive arm speed when at its best. Inconsistent. Firm at times, but
shows drop on others. Potential fringe-average offering.
Slider: Showed a 80-82 mph slider in one 2019 outing scouted with
similar shape to his curveball. May have been trying to tweak pitch mix,
was not throwing the pitch earlier in the month. Inconsistent.
Summation: Solid
low-minors depth arm. Professional approach, strong makeup. Type of arm
you can bounce between levels as needed to plug gaps. |
