Scouting Report:
Undersized infielder with a thick, filled-out frame. Sturdy, physically
mature. No remaining projection, below-average athlete. Switch-hitter that
starts open and utilizes a slight leg lift from both sides of the plate.
Swing is longer from the right side, where he shows more power - although
power isn’t a part of his game. Left-handed swing is shorter and more
direct to the ball. Below-average speed. Played primarily second base
coming up, but added third base to his repertoire during Spring Training
2018. Can play first base in a pinch. Lacks athleticism to work at second
base at a major league level. Decent hands, minimal range. Drafted by
Washington out of high school, did not sign and opted to attend Florida.
Played four seasons for the Gators. Named to the SEC All-Freshmen team in
2012. Played in the College World Series in 2012 and 2015. Senior sign for
the Phillies in 2015. Spent two seasons in the Philadelphia organization.
Traded to the Red Sox in 2016 for Clay Buchholz. Projects as a high minors
organizational player. Lacks a carrying tool to project as a major
leaguer.
