Scouting Report: Large frame righty with a sturdy build. Smooth repeatable delivery. Fastball sits in the low 90s and tops out at 95 mph. With some strength training, Stroup's fastball could even add some more velocity. Low 70s knuckle curveball has plus potential. Also has a splitter and a straight changeup. Able to go deep into games, maintaining velocity. Originally projected to go in the top ten rounds of the 2008 draft, Stroup slipped due to bonus demands.
