Scouting Report: Tall lefty with a two-seam fastball that sits between 88-90 mph with nice downward movement - uses his height to his advantage. Used out of the bullpen, his fastball can get up to around 92 mph. Uses his fastball aggressively, going after hitters without painting corners. Inconsistent command. Deceptive delivery. His mid-70s curve has shown a lot of improvement since 2008, and is becoming an above average second option. However, it seems as if he's phasing out his changeup. Richardson has a tendency to hang the ball up in the zone, and when he does he can get pounded. Converted to a reliever in the 2008-09 off-season. Great athlete and competitor, also a fantastic basketball player.
