Scouting Report: Middle reliever with a submarine delivery. Worked exclusively out of the bullpen in college and led his team in appearances and saves. Throws a mid-60s slider, a low-80s fastball, and a low 60s changeup. Groundball pitcher. Similar style and approach to Chad Bradford. Focused and intelligent. Younger brother of Jonathan Papelbon and twin brother of Cubs draftee Jeremy Papelbon. Papelbon has been on the older side compared to his competition early in his pro career, and has shown some flashes of success, but also has struggled in extended stints.
