Scouting Report: Well-filled out left fielder/first baseman. Demonstrated a lot of offensive tools before leaving Cuba in 2009. Hits from an open stance deep in the batter's box. Fluid swing that generates some extension and lift. Likes the ball out and over the plate. Will have to use his hands more to hit higher velocity inside pitching. Aggressive approach. Could stand to keep his weight back more on back leg. Gap power with the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. Improvements with pulling the ball will tap more into his raw power and lead to an increase in extra-base hits. Struggles against lefties. Average defender at first base with fluid actions. Subpar range and footwork in left, looks out of place in the outfield.
