Scouting Report: Primarily a reliever for four years at Wichita, Boston has utilized Hottovy as a starter.  The crafty lefty throws  two and four seam fastballs which sit in the high 80s, as well as a decent changeup and an excellent curveball.  Inconsistent command, but when he's on, he has pinpoint control. Retooled his delivery in 2005, which took some time to get used to, and led to early struggles.  Hottovy has been somewhat old for his league at nearly every level through his climb up the organizational ladder.
