Scouting Report: Lightning fast shortstop, probably can add some bulk and maintain top-line speed. Good defensive player, he should eventually excel at both shortstop and second base with some seasoning. Great range and footwork. Accurate arm with average strength. The one quibble with his defense might be his throwing mechanics, which are somewhat herky-jerky, but he still makes strong, quick throws. Also could improve ball transfers on double plays. All in all, the game seems to come easy to Gibson - he has a nice fluidity in the field and a quick-twitch response in all aspects of the game.  With the bat, Gibson's stance is a little compact, he has quick wrists and a short, smooth stroke. He connects with the ball and has gap power. Likely doesn't have the frame to add a lot of home run power. Patient approach.  Gritty, fundamental player. Mixes speed with impressive intelligence on the basepaths. Despite his speed, he's actually a little bit slow out of the box.
