Scouting Report:
Big righty with an
ideal pitcher's frame. Gets on top of his pitches and throws over the
top. Consistent delivery. Not a ton of drive to it, but he really looks
like he is throwing downhill when he brings it. Fastball sits around
90-92 mph but can hit up to 93 mph on occasion. Decent life. Average
control. Hard-breaking 78-80 mph curveball and an okay 83 mph changeup,
both with development potential. Good splits against left-handed
batters. Not a lot of mileague on his arm, as he was converted from 3B
early in his college career. Garrison had TJ Surgery in March 2007, and
was drafted by the Sox in June of that year. After failing to sign,
Garrison was re-drafted by Boston in 2008.
