Scouting Report: Thin Venezuelan shortstop signed in the early 2007 international signing period. Very good defensive player, primarily plays second base now. With the bat, Garcia has a nice looking swing, but his approach is raw - needs work on pitch recognition and doesn't seem comfortable against advanced pitching. However, he has played well above his age scale early in his career. He has a slight frame, and likely will not add much power down the line. Defensively, he has great fundamentals and has a nice fluidity at both second and short. Always gets in front and stays down on the ball, and has very quick hands. His arm doesn't have enough strength for shortstop though. Athletic for a second baseman.
