Scouting Report: Labeled by Dominican Academy Director Jesus Alou as a "can't miss prospect", Espinoza is said to have extremely quick hands, excellent speed, and good ability to make contact. Not much present power, but has some ability to add strength to his frame. Not likely to be a big home-run hitter, though extra-base hits will come because of his speed. Runs the bases well. Very good plate discipline. Spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons on the restricted list following unconfirmed reports that he inaccurately reported his age at signing.
