Scouting Report: Born in South Africa, Erasmus honed his craft in Brisbane, Australia for several national-level teams. Also played infield and had some success as a hitter, but Boston plans on utilizing him as a pitcher. Athletic build. Erasmus mixes in an 87 mph two-seam fastball and an average mid-70s curveball with some nice potential. Probably has room to add some velocity to his fastball. Over-the-top, smooth and deliberate delivery. Works quickly. Very good fielder.
