Scouting Report: Live bullpen arm with a good 92 mph fastball with movement, a phenomenal high 80s slider, and a decent changeup which is a work in progress. Cox's slider, while outstanding at times, can disappear for periods of time leaving him without a plus out pitch.  He's also previously had major struggles with control, including a case of the yips in which he totally lost the strike zone in college. However, he was able to overcome these issues late in 2006 and absolutely dominated the College World Series. Cox claims to be more comfortable as a middle reliever than as a closer.  If he can get his slider going, he has very high major league potential.
