Scouting Report: Bishop was signed out of a New Zealand fast-pitch softball league in February 2011. At 17, he was one of the younger players ever to make the Junior Black Sox (a professional fast-pitch squad), and was considered one of the best softball prospects in the country. A catcher with a powerful frame, Bishop won several best hitter awards in the junior softball ranks. Decent bat speed. Defensively, Bishop has a quick glove and a strong arm.
